Late Roman C plate fragment. The fragment rises slightly in the center where it is stamped with a small cross(?) with dots in the quardrants and concentric squares above it. Around this are eight impressions ... Card: ca. 440-490 A.D.
Leaf pattern on rim; on the discus a shell, rather faint; solid handle double grooved above and below. Double almond-shaped grooves on the reverse; palm branch within.
Unglazed.
