In the road, hard-packed gravel surfaces were taken out, and the later water supply lines, one of terracotta and two of lead, were fully exposed. More of the deep street drain and another subsidiary channel entering it from the west, were cleared. ... To the west, Hellenistic and Classical levels were excavated, and a pyre buried under a floor was exposed, dating to the late 4th or early 3rd century B.C.
