Floor fragment. Glaze pitted. Max. dim. 0.041. I, uncertain subject. The fragment preserves part of a barbiton (upper section of arms, crosspiece, and strings). A sash hangs from the lower arm. In the ... Probably late 6th or early 5th century B.C ... For the barbiton, see 196. The musician on 1628 probably held his instrument by its arm in his left hand.

Two non-joining wall fragments. Streaky blackish brown glaze on inside. Max. dim. a) 0.064, b) 0.051. Musical contest. Fragment a preserves an aulos-player (most of head, lower part of garment, and feet ... Ca. 430-420 B.C ... Fragment b shows the head and shoulders of a man, probably seated (he looks upward) to left, facing the musician. Around his head is a fillet with three spikes; over his shoulder, a himation.

[Object] P 32474: Black Figure Cup Skyphos

Mended from several pieces. Almost complete except for sections of rim and body. Torus ring foot, concave lip, canted handles. Reserved: underside with two concentric circles, outside of foot, resting ... 6 July 1995 ... Protrusion from area of head toward raised hand. A musician (?). Branches radiate toward handles and palmettes.

Thompson, Hesperia 17, 1948, pl ... Late third quarter of the 5th century B.C ... Dilute glaze: muscles on hip of musician. White: band on wreaths of youths; flames of torch.
