The pit had been dug into ... 350-330 B.C ... The pit had been dug into a marble-and limestone-chip layer over bedrock, and was covered by a Late Hellenistic layer with tile fragments. It may be associated with the abandonment of the house, since the marble-and limestone-chip layer was laid down during the structure's last phase.

Pottery, a little burnt bone, and patches of charcoal ... 250-240 B.C ... The pyre was uncovered in digging a thin layer rich in marble chips. Cinders were found spread through layer 7 beyond the shallow pit, demonstrating that they were somewhat dispersed before the pit was covered over by that layer. The excavator interpreted the successive thin layers of marble chips as road-building material.

Although marble chips were found scattered throughout fill of amphorae pit, these pits were distinct: Find Γ 2854, Amphora, was uncovered beneath hard fill that made up the northeast bottom edge of the marble chip pit.

Immediately above this lower filling came a meter of fill containing many buff poros chips, some marble chips and a large number of water-jars, but no other vase-shapes, apart from chance sherds. ... Above this clay layer, for the lower 60cm of the unlined part of the shaft, the loose broken bedrock fill continued, followed by a meter of buff poros chips filling, with some marble chips and many water-jars, a second "workmen's period". An Unfinished marble mortar and a ladle-like object of marble also came from this filling.
