Fusiform body on flaring base slightly concave beneath. Thickened lip with rounded outer profile; heavy strap handle. Highly micaceous reddish fabric, very thick and heavy; unglazed. East Greek.

Scraped groove at outer edge of preserved interior surface; groove on exterior wall and offset at edge, possibly beginning of rim. Painted both inside and outside ... 225-200? ... Ivy garland similar to that on P 1495 (Agora XXII, no. 408, p. 92, pl. 71 [H--K 12--14?]). |
Part of wall and shoulder, to base of neck, with trace of handle attachment on shoulder.
Pinecone moldmade wall, with scraped groove at top. Scraped groove at base of neck. Shoulder: ivy garland running ... Ca. 200 ... Identical painted decoration and floral moldmade body: P 31717 (H--K 12--14). Similar garland in same position on P 17864 (Agora XXII, no. 406, p. 92, pls. 69, 89 [M 21:1]) and P 26257 (floral, probably from Workshop A [M 18:10]). |
