This piece was intended for insertion as a patch in a high relief. The surface worked with the single point; a measuring point on the inside of the knee.
Pentelic marble ... 28 June 1950 ... (Conceivably an unfinished repair to the high relief of which fragments have been found in the area of the Altar of Ares; perhaps necessitated by damage done in transplanting the altar. |

Within a raised border, the relief shows two men pushing and pulling at an object, which resembles a statue. They may be setting it on a ... 15 June 1933 ... They may be setting it on a base, as a rectangular, low object appears in the lower left corner.

Soft greenish yellow poros.

| Comb and beak chipped. At neckline, a somewhat rough-finished surface at obtuse angel with head, and a small hole for attachment, suggesting that the head was part of a group, and faced somewhat left ... 500-480 B.C (?) ... Note that the right side of the head, particularly the wattles, is unfinished.
