| Title: | Statuette Fragment: Artemis | |
| Category: | Sculpture | |
| Description: | Head missing, iron dowel remains. Part of cutting for right arm remains but no trace of dowel. Left forearm probably also not yet attached. Broken off below at approximately knee level. Unfinished. Wears high-girt peplos with long overfall. A folded mantle rests on left shoulder and is wrapped in around arm. Stiff, almost archaistic folds in overall. A diagonal ridge may represent a quiver strap, which would make this Artemis. Back, roughly blocked out, shows long archaistic-looking hair mass hanging down. Pentelic marble. | |
