| Title: | Statuette Fragment: Draped Female Figure | |
| Category: | Sculpture | |
| Description: | Broken off below at about knee level. Head (inset) missing. Also right hand. Battered. Stained by wall mortar. Female figure heavily draped in chiton and himation. Her right hand was extended. Apparently it was to be attached separately but perhaps the piece was never finished, since there is no dowel hole. The same is true of the neck socket. A snake (?) is draped over her left shoulder with its tail hanging down in back, its head broken in front. Perhaps a representation of Hygeia. Pentelic marble. Cf. Hesperia 87 (2018), p. 548, n. 12. | |
