| Description: | Fragment from upper wall, with start of rim. The heads of two figures, facing each other, a woman left, and a youth carrying a thrysos, right. The woman is draped, and wears an embroidered head-band; the youth a fillet with berries. Sprays with berries project from the thyrsos. White for the woman's flesh and drapery, with yellow overpainting. White, with both pink and yellow over, for both berries and hair ornaments. No contours. Note that the pink wash used over the reserved surfaces of the vase has run on to the woman's ear. Note also its relation to the yellow on the details of the thyrsos. | |
