Title:   Kantharos Fragments with Relief Decoration

Description:   A fragment from the rim and side preserved with one vertical ring handle; another fragment gives the base and part of the floor. A few small pieces do not join. High concave upper part; small plain vertical lip; thumb rest over the handle. Bulging lower body. Broad, rather low foot, moulded on top. On the upper part of the body a heavy garland hangs between the handles; in the middle of the side above it a mask-like head.
Gritty red to gray clay; covered inside and out with thick, iridescent greenish blue vitreous glaze.
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Red fill with late Hellenistic, disturbed?
Handling:   lead glaze, don't handle excessively with bare hands
