Title:   Deep Bowl Fragments: Linear
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Twenty-two sherds mended into four, non-joining fragments and two non-joining sherds preserving the complete profile to a linear deep bowl with flaring rim, two partially preserved horizontal, round-section handles, and a low ring base.
The exterior decoration consists of a medium band beginning below the lip (stemmed bowl banding), and a group of lines running below the handle zone consisting of one to three visible fine lines bounded above and below by a medium band. The exterior of the ring base is painted with a medium band. The handles are tri-splashed. The interior is monochrome.
The paint is thick and fairly evenly applied, fired dark brown. The base shows a fairly extreme use-wear on the interior from abrasion, likely due to use as a bowl. The exterior has some black staining that may be due to burning or just depositional (very dirty at the moment).
